Payment Policy

 

All lessons are billed at the start of the month, for the month. Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice issuance/payment request. A late fee of $20 will be charged for overdue payments.

 

If you need to adjust your bill for the month (e.g. travel plans/holidays), you may email us requesting an adjustment ahead of time. Make ups will be made where possible.

 

Payment methods

 

We accept Venmo and credit/debit cards via our Opus1 portal.

 

Cancellation/Reschedule/Make Up policy

 

All the teachers here at The Music Box NY value our time spent teaching and respect your child's time spent learning. We kindly ask that you do the same as we take great pride in preparing for your child’s classes to ensure they receive the best quality lessons possible.

 

• Reschedule fee for in-studio lessons (within 24 hours): $30

• Cancellation more than 24 hours in advance: No fee. You will receive a make up credit to be used within that month.

• Cancellations within 24 hours/no shows: Full fee.

  • We understand that emergencies occur. To avoid the cancellation fee, you may schedule a makeup class, depending on the discretion and availability of your instructor. Repeated cancellations and last minute rescheduling may result in forfeiture of the full fee.

• Make ups for in-person lessons can be done online.

• If anyone in your household has been exposed to COVID-19, please inform us and lessons will be made up online.

 

COVID-19 Precautions

 

In light of the COVID19 pandemic, The Music Box NY staff have adopted the following procedures in ensuring the health and safety of our staff and students to best of our abilities

 

• Only a teacher and members from the same household are allowed in the studio at one time.

• Masks are optional but highly encouraged.

• Teachers and students are to wash/sanitize their hands before and after class.

• No consumption of food and drink within the premises or during class, where possible.

• If anyone in your household has been exposed to COVID-19, please inform us and lessons will be made up online.

• All our staff are fully vaccinated.

Recitals

 

The Music Box NY holds recitals twice a year in June and December as a way to showcase our students’ progress, and provide them a chance to further develop their confidence and musicianship. Pre-COVID19, our recitals were held in-person at various theaters around Manhattan. As of September 2022, recitals will be held on a case-by-case basis, depending on the COVID19 situation in NYC.

 

For in-person recitals, each performer may receive a trophy, certificate and gift bag. This may vary depending on the recital. Tickets are available to audience members. Performers are not required to pay a fee.

 

For online recitals, performers may receive a gift that will be mailed to them. Each participant is required to pay a participation fee.
